We are taking advantage of this collective achievement to thank all the employees for their meticulous work on a day-to-day basis, as well as those who have contributed directly or indirectly to the implementation of the system changes, audits and follow-up.
Our motivations
Since the continuous improvement process is an integral part of our corporate culture, it was quite natural to select the ISO 9001 standard as a tool to improve and control our processes to support our accelerated growth. This decision goes back more than 18 years and the management team is proud of the progress that has been made since then.
For the IATF 16949 standard, our desire was to promote an added value growth vector, that is to say, the use of one of our distinctive skills (aluminum injection) in a specific area: the automobile. More than 8 years ago, the management team therefore took the decision to start the challenging IATF 16949 adventure. Now one of the few Quebec companies with this certification, we are advantageously positioned thank to our expertise and this certification. And this is not mentioning that the IATF requirement, which has fuelled many continuous improvement initiatives, are now a requirement for our customers in the automotive industry.
What is the ISO standard (International Organization for Standardization)?
ISO9001:2015 is an international standard regarding the quality management system. It is based on a number of principles, including strong customer focus, motivation and management involvement, process approach and continuous improvement. The latest update of the standard helps to ensure that customers get continuous, high-quality products and services, benefitting in return from the best business conditions. For the certified companies, many of them experienced increased growth and productivity as well as a substantial appreciation of their customer satisfaction and loyalty.
What is the IATF standard (International Automotive Task Force)?
The IATF 16949 :2016 is an international quality management system standard for the mass production and part replacement for the automotive industry. This one is based on the ISO 9001:2015 standard, but several specific points are added in order to help companies be more efficient. It should be noted that only the departments that deal with auto parts are concerned by this standard. To receive this certification, the companies must meet the following requirements: the ISO 9001:2015 standard, the IATF16949:2016 standard, the AIAG handbook (PPAP, MSA, APQP, etc.) (Automotive Industry Action Group) and the customer catalogue (Customer-specific requirements).
